Milan, 12 November 2020 – COIMA – a leading platform in the investment, development and management of real estate assets on behalf of institutional investors – is among the first real estate operators in Italy to adopt certification according to the WiredScore<\/strong> protocol for a number of its projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The WiredScore protocol provides property owners and developers with objective and transparent criteria for comparing digital infrastructures within in commercial properties<\/strong>, allowing tenants to identify, evaluate and classify buildings on the basis of their technological equipment. The standards outlined by WiredScore are designed to ensure that the property is technologically advanced<\/strong> and ready to host next generation businesses. WiredScore certified buildings are registered in a public register to guarantee maximum transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

COIMA HQ, Corso Como Place, Gioia 20, Le Ville di Porta Nuova, Pirelli 35 and San Fedele are among the buildings pioneering the new certification and they will be equipped with all the parameters required to obtain certification relating to digital connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Since 2013, WiredScore has been applied to the most important commercial buildings in the major real estate markets (including New York, London and Paris). It delivers Silver, Gold and Platinum level certificates depending on the development and digital infrastructure equipment of each building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

In Italy, COIMA has already pioneered some of the most important international certifications<\/strong>. Unicredit Tower in Milan, for example, was the first LEED certified Italian building in 2005. Today the Company has 34 LEED-certified buildings in its portfolio, covering over 400,000 square metres and representing circa 40% of the certifications in Milan, and a further 15 in development. 10 of these will also receive the WELL certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

COIMA has also started the process to certify Porta Nuova LEED and WELL for Community<\/strong>, which will be the first urban redevelopment project in the world to obtain double certification. This is intended to contribute to the positioning of Milan and Italy as among the most advanced in terms of pursuing leadership in ESG initiatives with measurable and transparent impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The two certifications, complementary to each other, therefore analyse the social, environmental and economic aspects of the development of Porta Nuova<\/strong>, documenting the community’s involvement in creating a district through the activation of public spaces, the creation of an innovative and replicable urban economic model, and communication tools with the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
