Designing the offices of the future

How can contemporary architecture respond to the new demands from workers, who are rejecting traditional offices in favour of hyper-functional, hi-tech spaces where they can cultivate relationships and receive new inputs, while also meeting targets in terms of urban regeneration, energy saving and environmental stewardship?
