In Italy, COIMA has been forerunner in adopting some of the most important international certifications. Torre Unicredit in Milan has been the first Italian building to apply for the LEED certification in 2005, and Corso Como Place the first office tower to obtain the WELL certification in 2021. Today the company is among the first Italian operators to adopt the WiredScore certification and has now a portfolio of 34 LEED certified buildings across more than 400,000 sqm, representing c.40% of total LEED certifications across the entire city of Milan. In addition, COIMA has a pipeline of 15 buildings under construction, 10 of which will seek the complementary WELL Certification.
COIMA has also started the process to obtain the LEED and WELL for Communitycertifications for Milan’s Porta Nuova district, making it the world’s first neighbourhood redevelopment project to start on the journey to a double certification.
